Safez of Roarborne

Safez of Roarborne (appeared 11 December 2025) is a Lionarchic politician and a member of the Central Command of the Lionarchic Roarist Party. He previously led the Lionarchic Roarist Party (LRP) as party leader until he abolished the position and replaced it with the Central Command.

Immediately after he appeared, Safez joined the Lionarchic Roarist Party and succeeded his cousin Scor as party leader. Similarly to Scor, Safez moved numerous family members, friends and close allies into high-ranking positions in the party. This led to significant resistance from several party members. Salah, the most prominent critic, demanded that Safez step down as party leader and democratize the party leadership. Following increasing pressure, Safez conceded and reorganized the leadership, forming the Central Command. He attempted to appoint himself as the chairman and select several family members and close allies to join the Central Command, but these moves were met with significant pushback. As a result, the chairman position remained vacant. On 11 May 2026, Safez successfully appointed Scor to the position of chairman and the two selected several family members and close associates to join the Central Command. This was generally regarded as a victory for Safez since he successfully retained his de facto leadership of the party.

Safez improved relations with several important plushies to increase his international recognition and acceptance. In February 2026, Safez recovered Spottelina Purr and Juniorientje Purr from the void and returned them to Spot Purr and Junior Purr respectively. While Junior Purr and other high-ranking heads of state initially appeared wary of Safez, this move increased his popularity significantly. The return of Spottelina and Juniorientje, two highly regarded figures in Juniorwood, led to rumblings in the void. This prompted several panthers to appear, including Pantheron, a long-standing nemesis of the Tigerium. Some have alleged this was intended by Safez. He supposedly used the diplomatic gesture to gain international recognition while also profiting from the distraction Pantheron would provide by re-establishing Pantheria.

Early and personal life

Safez of Roarborne appeared on 11 December 2025 in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Shortly after Safez's appearance, six more Roarbornes reappeared from the void. Safez briefly headed the House of Roarborne, though he was later succeeded by his uncle, Sulay of Roarborne.

His three children, Sarsel, Sabbar and Saher, appeared in December 2025. Safez's wife, Regina Maluf, appeared on 16 February 2026. They married before they were absorbed into the void, though the exact date of their marriage is unknown.

Lionarchic Roarist Party rule (2025-present)

Safez joined the Lionarchic Roarist Party directly after he reappeared. He succeeded his elder cousin Scor of Roarborne as the new party leader. He immediately began integrating his family into important positions in party leadership. He designated Scor as the leader of the military wing of the party, the Lionarchic Roarist Armed Forces (LRAF). He also moved his cousins Sifad and Sabah to key roles in the party. While the party started suffering from internal discontent, it acquired around 15% of the vote during the first election on 2 January 2026.

Power struggle for leadership

Safez started facing increased opposition from within the party. The most prominent critic, Salah, argued Safez practiced nepotism and aimed to wield total control of the party. He added that if Safez were not to step down as party leader and democratize the party leadership, he would "rip the party in two". Safez agreed to the demands and reformed the party structure. On 7 February 2026, he replaced the old leadership with the Central Command, a nine-man council led by a chairman. Safez initially proposed to name himself chairman, but Salah and other critics demanded he take the position of a regular member at most. While Safez accepted these demands as well, he filled the rest of the seats of the Central Command with family and close allies.

While attempting to stabilize the LRP, Safez simultaneously sought to improve his position in the Lionarchy by expanding his military connections. On 13 February 2026, he aligned himself with general Umrad Makharat. Despite military personnel in the Lionarchy being prohibited from expressing political opinions, Umrad was caught toasting to Safez at a social event. While Umrad faced heavy criticism and calls for resignation, Safez's reputation remained relatively unscathed.

International recognition

On 21 February 2026, Safez recovered Spottelina Purr and Juniorientje Purr and escorted them to Juniorwood to meet with Junior Purr and Tijgertje. He handed the two Purrs over to them in an attempt to improve his international reputation and that of the LRP. Tijgertje and Junior stated they greatly appreciated the diplomatic gesture. The event was deemed a success by most party members.

The return of the two Purrs caused rumblings in the void. This resulted in Pantheron and several other panthers appearing. Allegations arose that it was a calculated plan to distract the Tigerian forces and to make them leave Lionarchic territory. Safez denied this and stated it was not his intention to make the panthers reappear. He added that he was not affiliated with Pantheron either. The latter statement was quickly proven false, as it was revealed that Safez held close ties to Haferys Ishtar, a Pantherian politician linked to Pantheron.

Improvement of relations with the LSNP

Safez initiated negotiations between the LRP and the Lionish Social Nationalist Party (LSNP). He sought to overthrow the cabinet at the time, Mufasa I, by imposing a vote of no confidence. Though it was a minority cabinet, Safez first improved relations with Amin Zambada, a prominent member of the LSNP at the time. Both Safez and Amin Zambada publicly stated their negotiations were successful. Safez called it "an unbreakable alliance between two natural allies". Zambada later revoked LSNP-support for the cabinet and a vote of no confidence was successfully passed.

The democratization of the party structure, the recovery of the two Purrs and the growing image of the LRP as the major left-wing party, were met with a boost in popularity. During the next election on 26 February 2026, the Lionarchic Roarist Party acquired nearly 20% of the vote, a five-percentage-point increase from its previous result. Safez was generally credited with this success and his popularity increased in the party. Throughout March and April, internal discontent and criticism towards Safez lessened because of the party success attributed to his actions.

Seizure of power

The Lionarchic Roarist Party suffered a defeat during the election in May 2026. While it lost seats, the LRP formed a majority government with four other political parties. Following this, Safez's popularity increased again. With the increased popularity, Safez successfully appointed Scor as the new chairman of the Central Command. He was then able to appoint other family members and close associates into the Central Command as well. While Scor was the chairman, Safez was still seen as the de facto leader of the party. This was generally considered the end of the power struggle between Salah and Safez and a victory for the latter.

The allegations gave rise to broad mistrust in the royalist government among civilians, who voiced their concerns about the support for the LRP by several military officers, primarily referring to Makharat. King Leeuwtje of Orleons reacted to the allegations by stating that "military personnel must remain unaffiliated and neutral on politics". Salah, who was still a public critic of Safez, accused him of attempting to stage a coup alongside Zambada and Makharat. The rivalry between Safez and Salah worsened when Safez stated he would "remove the enemies from within". Following the allegations, Safez and several other members in the Central Command rejected Salah's nomination to become a member of the Central Command. Salah publicly contested the rejection, accusing Safez of prioritizing the consolidation of power around his family and removing opposition to ensure his continued authority. Safez defended the decision to reject Salah by saying that party leadership should remain exclusive to his allies and members of the Roarborne family. He dismissed Salah as incompetent and added that the Central Command collectively decided against his appointment. Around this time the LRP also saw a halt in its consistent growth in popularity, which analysts blamed on the controversies and internal rivalry.

Political ideology and beliefs

Safez was originally a devout Roarist and supported the complete abolition of the monarchy in favour of a republican system, where democratic elections would determine the political course of the government. Safez was initially firmly anti-monarchist, aligning with several radical Roarists and calling for a revolution against the House of Orleons, the royal house of the Lionarchy. However, his stance grew less radical after advocating for better relations with the Tigerium and Juniorwood, despite both being absolute monarchies. He argued that maintaining friendly relations with foreign powers, regardless of their governance, was essential for both Lionarchic and international stability.

Roarbornism

Safez's political ideas gradually shifted to a hybrid ideology of Roarism and his own principles, often referred to as Roarbornism, which is widely regarded as a later and highly personalized variant of Roarism. Its ideas position the members of the House of Roarborne and Safez in particular as the total and divine leaders of the Lionarchy. The ideology combines Solarite nationalism, sectarianism, militarism and a cult of personality around the Roarbornes.

While Roarbornism shares the traditional Roarist support for a centralized army and opposition to economic decentralization, it diverges in its stance towards monarchies, the treatment of ethnicity and the control of public institutions. Roarbornism notably takes a different stance towards monarchies than traditional Roarism, arguing that friendly relations with other countries and subsequently also monarchies, are essential for stability. However, both ideologies oppose the rule of a monarchy in the Lionarchy. Additionally, Roarbornism seeks to establish an exclusive democracy and to divide the Lionarchic population into a three-tiered social hierarchy. This social structure elevates Solarites to first-rank citizens while Savalions are designated as second-rank citizens. The other ethnicities are degraded to third-rank citizens, losing the rights to vote and to hold bureaucratic positions. Finally, both Roarism and Roarbornism aim to move all public institutions into the hands of the state, though Roarbornism seeks to move these institutions specifically into the possession of the Roarborne family and its close allies.

Roarbornism is frequently contrasted with other variants of Roarism, including Saharism and Neo-Roarism. Both Saharism and Neo-Roarism are non-dynastic and more socialist than Roarbornism. Saharism aims to focus less on Lionarchic-nationalism, focusing instead on establishing a full democratic political system, the removal of the monarchy and the non-corrupt handling of state institutions. Neo-Roarism on the other hand is widely described as a far-left variant of Roarism. Neo-Roarism abandoned nationalist principles and instead adopted radical leftist doctrines such as revolutionary socialism.

Personality

Safez is widely characterized as a pragmatic strategist and is seen as notoriously intolerant of dissent. Observers note that he appears to have a profound sense of loyalty to his own family and sees any opposition to him or his family as a personal betrayal. Safez also confirmed he sees the Solarite community superior to the other Lionarchic ethnicities. Additionally, experts concluded that Safez uses his charm strategically to gain influence in politics. Safez appears primarily devoted to his eldest son Sarsel, who he considers his heir. However, Safez has granted his other sons important political positions as well.
