Safez of Roarborne

Safez of Roarborne (appeared 11 December 2025) is a Lionarchic politician and a member of the House of Roarborne. He is the currently a viceroy of the Central Command of the Lionarchic Roarist Party (LRP). He previously led the LRP as party leader until he abolished the title when he reorganized the party hierarchy and named himself viceroy.

Safez's early party leadership was characterized by the appointment of several of his family members into key portfolios in the LRP. In February 2026, several senior party members, primarily Salah, demanded more influence in the LRP. Safez accepted the demands and reorganized the party hierachy by establishing the Central Command, aiming to name himself Chairman while he filled the rest of the Central Command with his family and close allies. Salah threatened to "rip the party in two" if Safez didn't settle as viceroy, forcing him to take this position instead. Soon after, Safez started improving relations with several other politicians, mainly those of left-wing parties, hoping to credit the LRP as the main left-wing party. The LRP saw a significant rise in popularity and Safez allegedly started conspiring against the government with general Umrad Makharat and later also Shadid of Sorbonne, the leader of the LSNP.

Early life

Family and background

Safez of Roarborne appeared on 11 December 2025 in Eindhoven. He is a member of the House of Roarborne, an affluent Solarite family which historically had significant influence in the government. His father is Sulay of Roarborne, who had four children of which Safez was the fourth. His three older brothers are Scor, Sifad and Sabah.

Safez got married to Regina Maluf in February 2026. They have five children, including their oldest child and only daughter, Reina, their oldest son, Sarsel, their second son, Sabbar, their third son, Saher and their fourth and youngest son, Sahid.

Lionarchic Roarist Party rule (2025-present)

On 1 December 2025, the Lionarchy adopted a constitutional monarchy with democratic elections. Following this, Scor of Roarborne, the leader of the Lionarchic Roarist Armed Forces (LRAF), signed a peace treaty with the government, which allowed Scor and the LRAF to maintain military influence in regions with Solarite dominated populations. Additionally, Scor was allowed to establish a political party. On 2 December 2025, Scor established the Lionarchic Roarist Party (LRP) and became its leader until Safez reappeared from the void on 11 December. Later that day, Safez became the new leader of the LRP, whilst he allowed Scor to remain in charge of the LRAF. Once Safez had taken over party leadership, he immediately assigned several Roarbornes into key positions, as he sought to make the House of Roarborne rule the LRP indefinitely. When Safez took power the LRP also saw a significant growth in popularity. During the elections on 2 January 2026, the Lionarchic Roarist Party obtained 15% of the votes, acquiring 39/250 seats in the National Congress. In February 2026, Safez improved relations with several left-wing parties and pressured them to follow the LRP's political ideas. The LRP was now widely regarded as the primary left-wing alternative and gained popularity while most rival left-wing parties saw a drop in popularity.

Democratization of the party

Over time discontent grew amongst senior party members, unhappy about the "Roarborne grip on power" in the party. A prominent member, Salah, demanded Safez step down as leader and the party to be governed by a democratic council. Salah threatened to start an anti-Roarborne front within the LRP against Safez and his family if he didn't accept the demands. Safez soon after reshaped the bureaucracy of the party by establishing the Central Command of the Lionarchic Roarist Party. Safez hoped to appoint himself as chairman of the council, remaining in charge of the political party while appeasing the displeased party members. However, the party members didn't accept his attempts to maintain his power and demanded Safez become a regular viceroy at most. Safez accepted the terms and became the first viceroy, soon followed by Abdul of Hashemane and Scor of Roarborne.

Since his term as viceroy, Safez actively attempted to appoint new viceroys that were loyal to him, striving to become chairman regardless of his opposition in the party. It is widely speculated that around this time Safez increasingly improved relations with several influential individuals. The most important figures included Abdul of Hashemane, one of the displeased members who started supporting Safez instead, Reza Maluf, a close friend of Safez's father, Sulay of Roarborne, and later Safez's father in law. Shadid of Sorbonne, the leader of the Lionish Socialist National Party and later a high-ranking Roarist, was also contacted by Safez. The two allegedly conspired against the government, planning to stage a coup. Later, general Umrad Makharat was reported attending the meetings between Safez and Shadid. Among the various allegations against Makharat, the most prominent one was the reported toast to Safez at a party. The event was highly documented by the press and was widely regarded as definitive proof of his pro-Roarist stance.

The allegations gave rise to broad mistrust in the royalist government among civilians, who voiced their concerns about the support for the LRP by several military officers. King Leeuwtje of Orleons reacted shocked and stated military personnel must remain neutral on the political stage. Salah, still a staunch opponent of Safez, publicly accused Safez of attempting to seize power in the LRP for himself as well as aiming to stage a coup alongside Shadid and Umrad. The rivalry between Safez and Salah worsened when Safez stated he would "remove the enemies from within", referring to the members that opposed his ascent to chairman and Salah in particular. The LRP's consistent growth in popularity saw a halt due to the controversies surrounding Safez and the rivalry between him and Salah. Some polls indicated the party's approval rating was slowly decreasing, which Safez publicly blamed Salah for.

Political ideology and beliefs

Safez was originally a devout Roarist and supported the complete abolition of the monarchy in favour of a republican system, where democratic elections would determine the political course of the government. During this period, he aligned with other traditional Roarists and called for a revolution against the government in place. However, over time Safez's political ideas shifted significantly to a hybrid ideology of Roarism and his own principles, often referred to as Roarbornism. Roarbornism is widely regarded as a later and highly personalized variant of Roarism, positioning the members of the House of Roarborne and Safez in particular as the total leaders of the Lionarchic State. The ideology combines Solarite nationalism, sectarianism, militarism and a cult of personality around the Roarbornes. Similarly to traditional Roarism, Roarbornism supports the maintenance of a centralized army and opposes the economic and political decentralization of the Lionarchy. Both ideologies aim to move all public institutions in the hands of the state, though Roarbornism pursues to put these institutions specifically in the hands of the Roarborne family and its close allies. Unlike Roarism, Roarbornism elevates the ethnic Solarite-group above all the other ethnicities. Its most prominent example is in politics, where only Solarites and Savalions are allowed to vote and hold bureaucratic positions.

Roarbornism is frequently contrasted with other variants of Roarism, including Saharism and Neo-Roarism. Both Saharism and Neo-Roarism are non-dynastic and more socialist than Roarbornism. Saharism aims to focus less on Lionarchic-nationalism, focusing instead on establishing a full democratic political system, the removal of the monarchy and the non-corrupt handling of state institutions. Neo-Roarism on the other hand is widely described as a far-left variant of Roarism. Neo-Roarism abandoned nationalist principles and instead espoused radical leftist doctrines such as revolutionary socialism.

Personality

Safez's demeanour is reportedly very calm and is widely regarded as highly intelligent, with some rumours of him having an IQ of 130 having spread widely, though he has not confirmed this. According to several close associates, Safez uses strategic thinking to gain significant influence in politics. Safez has spread little information on himself, though having verified the allegations that he primarily spends time with his oldest son Sarsel, hoping he will follow in his footsteps. In several public speeches, Safez said he sees himself as the Julius Caesar of the lions.
