Safez entered the Lionarchic politics by joining the Roarist party. His older brother, Scor of Roarborne, had founded the party and handed over leadership to Safez on 11 December 2025. The Roarborne family had established the party and placed several family members in key positions. Safez put his brother Sabah in charge of external relations, Sifad in charge of internal affairs and Scor remained in charge of the Roarist Armed Forces (RAF). However, Safez also competed for influence with other party members, predominantly Salah. Safez sought to centralize influence around the Roarborne family, whereas Salah retained a strict adherence to Roarist principles.
Safez's early leadership was characterized by the appointment of his siblings into key portfolios. He put Sabah in charge of foreign affairs, appointed Sifad as head of internal affairs and kept Scor in command of the Lionarchic Roarist Armed Forces (LRAF). This centralization around the Roarborne Family led to internal friction, most notably a power struggle with Salah, who aimed to reform the political party to the original Roarist ideology over the family-centric governance favored by Safez and the Roarborne family.
