The Primatorial Civil War is an ongoing conflict in the Royal Primate that began on 7 January 2026. The war was triggered after Tijgeron defeated Goros in a Trial of the Strongest, assuming the title of Primator's Strongest. Following his defeat, Goros started an armed rebellion, challenging Tijgeron's leadership.
The conflict was initially a power struggle though it later escalated as Tijgeron sought to consolidate power across Sabana to launch an operation against the Tigerium. Tijgeron sought alliances with the Lionarchy, Rayak and the Gray Triumvirate, though his approaches were rejected or ignored. The conflict turned into a three-front war when the Tigerium deployed its Fangtooth forces into Royal Primate territory to remove Tijgeron from power and end the rebellion led by Goros. The Tigerian intervention was led by Tigrish, though he was later wounded in battle by Maegor. His wounding led to the entering of negotiations between the Tigerian government and Tijgeron.
The negotiations later concluded that Tigerian and Pantherian forces would withdraw from the country. Aapje Congrove, Tijgeron's second-in-command, was designated as the new head of state, proclaiming herself as Empress of the Royal Primate. The Tigerium pressured her to cut ties with Tijgeron, which she eventually accepted. Goros and several other influential rebel-leaders rejected her Apexship and continued the civil war.
