The Kriegsführer is the highest rank in the Germanic military, the Wehrmacht. The Kriegsführer has numerous privileges. The Kriegsführer is allowed to act in war without the Führer's permission. However, this does not give the Kriegsführer unlimited power in war, since the Führer still has the permission to depose the current Kriegsführer. The Kriegsführer rank used to be called Kriegsleiter. Before that, it was called the Kriegsmeister. The only officer to hold this rank is Rudolf Riefenstein.
